Landscaping Sunshine Coast Project: Coastal Respite

With the children all grown up and flown the coup, the clients for this project wanted to completely redesign their back yard to serve mid-life and beyond. The Sunshine Coast hinterland location enjoys a wonderful climate which can be enjoyed year round. We were tasked with designing an aesthetic space with the flexibility to adapt to requirements.

One of the key requirements also included low maintenance. The clients spend extended periods travelling and did not want the  yard and garden maintenance to be an ongoing concern. Lawn was kept to a minimum and hardy plant selections ensured low maintenance.

The warm sandstone textures and geometric lines of the swimming pool are unimpeded by the glass look fence. With a few more years of growth, the hedge surrounding the fence line will ensure total privacy as well.

The original pool and stark back yard served it’s purpose during the young family years. However now this space is ideally suited to the owners to relax, entertain family and eventually enjoy grandchildren playing in the pool – but not too soon!
